Hi! I'm Melinda (Mindy) Capawana.
I'm a fine art wedding and family photographer based in St. Petersburg, Florida. I describe my photography as timeless and classic with a romantic feel; light and bright. My goal is to create images that won't look dated 10, 20, or even 30 years from now. I want you to look back at your family or wedding images with your grandchildren and love them as much as you did the day I captured them. I’ve spent many years honing my photography skills, including studying the art at Creadle School of Art, to make sure I’m able to do that.

“One of the best decisions we could have made was booking Melinda Capawana Photography. Not only did our pictures turn out beautifully - but she was incredibly easy to work with from beginning to end. From scheduling meetings and getting our photos, she was incredibly flexible and easy going. We highly suggest meeting with Melinda and booking her for any upcoming photo needs you may have!”
My Happy Place
Here are some behind-the-scenes images of me doing what I love! I feel honored every time a bride and groom or a family entrusts me with creating art that captures their precious memories. From bridal party portraits, to a family of three generations on vacation! That’s the sweet stuff!
A few random facts about me...
I live in a coastal town, but I can’t swim (yes, really!)
My all-time favorite movie is You’ve Got Mail, and I do a giggle/cry combo thing at the end every. single. time.
I'll go way out of my way to avoid making left turns (they can be so stressful!)
My husband introduced me to hockey and I get it now!
I hate scary movies and can't even watch the commercials.
I’m in love with our city, St. Pete, florida, and explore it every chance I get. You can see a few highlights about St. Pete from Travelista Teri here!
Our wedding day!
This photograph is from the day I married my best friend, Jim, and celebrated along with our three children, Brent, Justin and Alyssa. We were married in an intimate ceremony (10 total guests!) at the charming Historic Peninsula Inn, in Gulfport, Florida.** It was truly a Celebration of Love & Family!
